Analysing the opening scene of the horror film Halloween (1978) directed by John Carpenter .Halloween is an American independent horror film set in the fictional suburban town of Haddonfield, Illinois, USA on Halloween. The plot of the film is a psychotic murderer institutionalised since childhood escapes on a, mindless rampage while his doctor chases him through the streets. Halloween was produced in a tiny budget of $320,000 and grossed $47 million at the box office in the United States, as of 2008 it is equivalent to 150 million. Halloween is becoming one of the most profitable independent films ever. Some critics say the film is the first in a very long line of slasher films which is inspired by Alfred Hitchcock's psycho from 1960s. Halloween contains very little graphic violence and gore.
